Mykhailo Mudryk denies that he knowingly used prohibited substances.

A winger for Chelsea, who plays in the English Premier League Mykhailo Mudryk said he was in “complete shock” after giving a positive doping test.

Chelsea confirmed on Tuesday that the FA had notified Mudryk of a positive sample found in a routine test.

Mudryk denied ever knowingly using a banned substance.

– This came as a complete shock to me, because I have never knowingly used any prohibited substance. We are working with the team to find out how this could have happened, Mudryk wrote on Instagram.

According to the rules of the English Football Association, a player can be suspended after a positive doping test. However, the union does not responded to the BBCwhether Mudryl is suspended or when the test was done.

Mudryk has not played in Chelsea’s last five matches. The head coach Enzo Maresca has said that Mudryk’s absence was due to illness.

Mudryk, who moved to Chelsea in 2023, has scored ten goals in 73 matches.
