Chelsea signs from Norway – breaks transfer record

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

— It is a proud moment for us when we not only break a Norwegian transfer record, but break it. I think it’s a record that will stand for many years, says Atta Aneke, Fofana’s agent VG.

According to the well-known football journalist Fabrizio Romano, the London club will pay 12 million euros to Molde for the Ivorian striker, which corresponds to approximately 133 million Swedish kronor.

The transfer has been confirmed by both clubs. Fofana has signed a long-term contract that runs until 2029.

Chelsea writes on its website that 20-year-old Fofana will join the club on January 1. However, Aneke does not rule out a loan from the club.

“They want to recruit the best young talent in the world, and have a very clear plan for how they will succeed as well as possible,” says Aneke.

The striker scored 15 goals in Molde’s way to the Norwegian league title last season. In all tournaments there were a total of 21 goals.
