Sweden last won a medal in the WC 2018 and has several fourth places behind them.
But this year, the women’s national team took the next step and snagged second place. It was the first silver medal in the prestigious top class. The USA defended the gold and Finland finished third.
Everyone in the women’s national team is a member of the association Gothenburg Cheer One.
Cheerleading was elected to the National Sports Confederation as recently as 2019.
