To set off on your trip with peace of mind and find your house all clean when you return, here is a list of things to do and precautions to take before the big departure, whether you are leaving for a week or a month.
Empty and clean the fridge
Summer holidays are a good excuse to empty completely and clean your fridge in every nook and cranny. The week before departure, avoid doing a lot of shopping and finish the food in the fridge to avoid any waste. The day before departure, empty everything and give the neighbors what will expire during your absence. It would be a shame to come back from a trip and find moldy vegetables. Then polish your fridge with a mixture of water and white vinegar (the inside, but also the outside, the joint, without forgetting the handle). If your fridge is empty, unplug it and leave the door open. Tip: if you don’t unplug your fridge, place a cup inside with baking soda to avoid bad smells.
