Chatham man suffers life threatening injuries in motorcycle crash

A 48-year-old Chatham man suffered life-threatening injuries after being ejected during a single-vehicle motorcycle crash that happened in a Chatham neighborhood Sunday night.

Chatham-Kent police said emergency crews responded to the crash on Baldoon Road, near McNaughton Avenue West just after 8 pm

Police said a red 2004 Suzuki GXR motorcycle was traveling north on Baldoon Road when the driver lost control and went off the roadway north of Finch Avenue.

The driver was ejected from the motorcycle after striking a no parking sign on the east side of the road, resulting in life-threatening injuries, police said.

The man, who was the lone occupant of the motorcycle, was transported to hospital for medical attention, police said.

Family members have been notified and the name of the driver is not being released at this time, police said.

The police traffic unit is currently investigating the collision and anyone with information is asked to contact Const. Lisa Rodger at [email protected] or 519-355-1092.
