A 32-year-old Chatham man was arrested and taken into custody after Chatham-Kent police responded to a domestic dispute on Campus Parkway in Chatham just after 11 p.m. Tuesday.
Police said an argument escalated when the accused allegedly wrapped his arm around a woman’s neck, restricting her breathing, police said.
The accused was charged with assault and taken to police headquarters where he was held pending a bail hearing.
Wallaceburg woman charged with assault
Chatham-Kent police caught up to a 24-year-old Wallaceburg woman wanted on an outstanding warrant for assault related to a Dec. 20 confrontation.
Police said the accused was found just before 9 am Tuesday on Grand Avenue in Chatham.
She was arrested and charged with assault and released with a Jan. 20 short date, police said.
Outstanding warrant
A 36-year-old Chatham man was arrested after Chatham-Kent police were called to an address on Delaware Avenue in Chatham Tuesday night to stand by and keep the peace.
While there, police said it was learned the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court.
He was arrested and later released with a Jan. 31 short date, police said.
