Chatham man charged with mischief after window broken at relative’s home

Thefts under investigation by Chatham Kent police

A 20-year-old Chatham man is facing a mischief charge after Chatham-Kent police were called to a Dover Street residence in Chatham around 5 am regarding a family dispute.

Police arrived and learned the accused, who is a relative, had allegedly broken a window at the residence.

He was arrested and charged with mischief under $5,000 and released with a future court date.

No offenses found during RIDE checks

There were no infractions found during several RIDE checks conducted by Chatham-Kent police in Chatham and Wallaceburg on Friday.

Police will be conducting frequent RIDE spot checks throughout the holiday season and ask motorists to be safe and not to drive while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
