Man charged after Blenheim apartment clashes police

A Chatham man is accused of stealing a bicycle from a Third Street business in Chatham.

The suspect, identified through surveillance footage, was located crossing Fifth Street Bridge and arrested at about 9 am Sunday, Chatham-Kent police said.

The 28-year-old was uncooperative and resisted arrest. Police found methamphetamine in his pocket during the arrest, police said.

He is charged with theft, possession of stolen property, resisting arrest and possessing a controlled substance.

He was released with a July 20 short date.
