The third-quarter payment covering Oct. 1 to Dec. 31, 2025 brings the total the municipality has received since April 1, 2024 to $1.3 million. OLG’s fiscal year ends March 31.
Chatham-Kent has received a total of $19.1 million since an OLG gaming site opened in the municipality in April 2001.
These payments to host communities are based on a formula applied across all gaming sites in Ontario, said an OLG media release.
“OLG’s municipality contribution agreement payments help pave the way for Chatham-Kent to build critical infrastructure and fund important programs that make a real difference for residents,” said Trevor Jones, MPP for Chatham-Kent-Leamington, in the release.
“Gateway Casinos Chatham supports numerous jobs and generates significant economic activity that, in turn, enhances the well-being of our local community,” he said.

Since 1994, host communities have received more than $2.2 billion in non-taxable gaming revenue.
OLG is proud to share proceeds of casino gaming with local communities, contributing to economic development including infrastructure and job creation, the corporation said. Payments to host communities are part of OLG’s commitment to Ontario, which includes reinvesting 100 per cent of OLG’s profits in the province.
During the past eight years, service providers have invested more than $2.5 billion in private sector capital investments across the province, the OLG said. These investments have led to the development and opening of seven new casinos, one large scale resort development, numerous gaming floor expansions and new non-gaming amenities.
