Chatham-Kent Public Health Reports Two New Measles Exhibitions

Chatham-Kent Public Health is Advising the Community of Two New Measles Exhibitions.

The Health Unit Identified the exhibits in A News Release Friday:

  • Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Emergency Department and Front Lobby of Chatham Site at 80 Grand Ave. W., on Thursday, March 13, Between 6:25 and 8:30 PM
  • Walmart Store At 881 St Clair St. in Chatham on Monday, March 10, Between 10 AM and 1:30 PM

“If you were present during this timeframe and are not up-to date with your vaccinations, please call CK public Health at 519-352-7270, ext. 5902, ”The Health Unit Said.

“If you are experienced Symptoms of Measles and need to visit a health-care provider, Emergency Department or Walk-in Clinic, Call First and Tell Them You have Had an Exposure and Measles Symptoms,” The Health Unit Added.

Symptoms can include fever, runny nose, cough, drowsiness, irritability, and red eyes, the health unit. In Red Rash, Which Appears on the Face Three to Seven Days After Symptoms Start, May Progress Down the Body.

The Two Exposures Are Among the Numerous Public Locations in Chatham-Kent Locations where the Health Unit has reported potential exhibits to the highly contagious virus in recent days.

“It is important to note that the Majority of individuals are vaccinated against measles, Providing Them with Protection Against the Disease,” The Health Unit Said.

“As Such, The Risk of Contracting Measles Remains Small to the Broade Community,” The Health Unit Added. “However, as a precautionary measure, we urge all individuals to ensure they are up-to-date on their vaccinations.”

Ontario is Seeing A Massive Surge in Measles Cases as an Ongoing Outbreak Spreads in the province Among Mostly Unvaccinated People, the Canadian Press Reported this Week.

Public Health Ontario is Reporting 372 Total Cases since An Outbreak Began on Oct. 28, 2024. That’s a Jump of 195 Cases since the Agency’s Last Report on Feb. 27.
