Four were single-vehicle crashes in which vehicles slid off the road, police said. One vehicle struck a sign, two hit utility poles, and the fourth went into a ditch.

A car collided with a salter-equipped pickup, temporarily closing Longwoods Road, between Center Side Road and James Street, in Chatham Township Monday night, police said. The car driver, who suffered minor injuries, was charged with careless driving.
Also Monday, a driver was charged under the Highway Traffic Act after an SUV rear-ended a pickup on Talbot Line, between West Ridge Line and Fargo Road, in Harwich Township, police said. No one was hurt.
Motorists were still reporting poor conditions, including black ice, in numerous locations on social media Tuesday. School buses in all zones were canceled for the day.

Freezing rain is expected to transition to rain or snow later in the day, with periods of rain or drizzle this evening as temperatures rise above zero.
Two hit-and-run crashes were also reported, police said.
Officers were called to a crash on the bridge on McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg about 8 am Tuesday, police said.
An older model white Ram pickup collided with another vehicle, damaging a mirror, while trying to pass on the right, police said. The pickup driver stopped long enough to apologize, then left.

Officers responded to a crash in a public parking lot at Queen North and Prospect streets in Tilbury about 11 p.m. Monday, police said. A white SUV reversed out of a parking space into another vehicle, damaging the rear bumper, then left.
