Emergency personnel are being credited for their quick actions in saving a person from the Thames River on Thursday night.

Crews responded to the call just before 8:30 pm after reports that somebody was in the water.
Firefighters from Station 1 arrived, along with personnel in a fire boat, and saw a person in the water. Firefighters quickly pulled the person from the water and returned to shore where the individual was taken to hospital.
“I would like to thank our partnering emergency responders, (Chatham-Kent) police and (Chatham-Kent) EMS,” Chief Chris Case said in a release Friday.
“Quick and effective actions by all resulted in a life being saved.”
Officials warn that river conditions are unpredictable and can contain hidden dangers. If you see someone in difficulty, call 911.
