Officers responded to a disturbance on Patterson Avenue just after 9:30 pm to learn a woman had been assaulted and threats were made to cause her harm when an argument with a man escalated, police said.

A man was located and arrested, police said.

A 28-year-old Chatham man has been charged with assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, uttering threats and two counts of assault, police said.

It was released with conditions and an April 29 short date.

Man, woman charged with assault in separate clashes: police

A man and a woman are facing assault charges in separate clashes, says Chatham-Kent police.

Officers responded to a disturbance on Gray Street in Chatham on Saturday and learned a man assaulted a woman, who left her injured, police said.

The man left before officers arrived.

A 37-year-old Chatham man surrendered to police at headquarters at 9:43 am Sunday. Police said he was arrested and charged with assault causing bodily harm and released with conditions and an April 17 court date.

Just before 3:30 pm Sunday, police began an assault investigation in Chatham.

Officers learned a complainant and a woman clashed following an argument.

The complainant was suffered resulting in minor injuries, police said.

A woman attended police headquarters at 5:44 am Monday to surrender to police.

A 31-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with assault, police said.

She was released with conditions an April 15 short date.

Window smashed with hammer, woman arrested: police

A woman has been charged after Chatham-Kent police were called about a window being smashed with a hammer.

Officers responded to George Street in Ridgetown at 4:30 p.m. Sunday for a mischief investigation, police said.

Officers learned a woman had broken the complainant’s front window with a hammer, police said.

Further investigation revealed the woman has a history of harassing the complainant and her family, police said.

A 40-year-old Ridgetown woman was arrested and charged with criminal harassment and mischief. She was taken into custody pending a bail hearing, police said.
