OpenAI launched the standalone ChatGPT app for iOS in May and has promised to bring it to Android soon.
Those who want to try ChatGPT’s Android application can pre-register from the Google Play Store. The app will be free to use and sync user history across devices, but it hasn’t been announced in which markets it will be available for download first.
OpenAI says the standalone ChatGPT app will provide users with instant answers, tailored advice, creative inspiration, professional input and learning opportunities. However, the Android app may not be the same as the iOS app because we are talking about two different operating systems here, so the lack of Siri and Shortcuts integration found in the iOS app is to be expected.
We will learn in which countries and with what features it will come with its launch next week.
