Lebanon’s military has been greatly weakened in recent years. Partly because of the crisis that Lebanon’s leaders have contributed to, but also because the major countries (US, France, UK etc) have been reluctant to give them arms for fear that they would end up in Hezbollah’s hands.
Now, however, the situation is very different.
