Charlotte Kalla’s honest words after Therese Johaug’s clear criticism – admits herself: “It would have been…”

Norwegian ski queen Therese Johaug airs her clear criticism.
That prompts the Swedish ski queen Charlotte Kalla to answer.
– It would have been worth its weight in gold, admits Kalla to SVT Sport.

There is currently a crisis in Norway in cross-country skiing on the women’s side. During the season, they have been completely shunned by the American distance skiers and the Swedish sprint stars.

Norway’s crisis

Certainly won Tiril Udnes Weng the overall World Cup last year, but this year the Norwegian cross-country skiers have not been recognisable. Something serious has to happen to reverse the sad trend and now two of the nation’s biggest are extending their helping hands.

After both Marit Björgen and Therese Johaug ended their successful careers, they have left a great void behind them. Now the legendary duo wants to help and both can imagine some kind of leadership or advisory role in the Norwegian women’s national team.

Called response

But none of them have received any requests yet, which Johaug clearly criticizes. Also the Swedish ski queen Charlotte Kalla think it’s strange.
– They have a lot of experience that can’t be read into, which would have been worth gold to have a quick introduction to, Kalla tells SVT and hopes that Norway moves up on the women’s side.
– Super tough not to get what you’re good at. Because they have capacity. I hope and believe they will come again.

Kalla himself has helped with the Swedish junior national team after his own skiing career ended. During last year’s season, she was a sidekick to the junior coach Andreas Domeij and attended a training camp with the young ski girls.
– It gave me a lot. Since then, I have received very nice feedback from both riders and leaders around, that they appreciated my participation. For my part, I really grew in a role that was completely new to me, the leadership role, Kalla tells the TV channel.

But if she can imagine a regular leadership role in the future, she is not so sure.
– I really do not know. Right now the focus is somewhere else entirely. I haven’t really thought about it, says Charlotte in the interview.
