Charlotte Kalla has won most things that can be won on the ski slopes.
But now she has been awarded a completely different prize that means an awful lot.

Two years have passed since one of Swedish skiing’s all-time greats ended his successful career. Charlotte Kalla left cross-country skiing but hasn’t been on the lazy side since.
Called own book
The WC and Olympic gold medalist has competed in “Let’s Dance” while pregnant, became the mother of a little boy, ran the Vasaloppet and wrote a book. The autobiography “Shame on those who give” gives a completely new side of Charlotte and the book has had a great impact.

Kalla touches on several important topics such as elite athletes and women that need to be talked about more.
– It felt important to me to contribute with this. In this way, trying to be a hero in another field. Not only through the sporting achievements, she says in an interview with Expressen.
– I believe that my experiences of things that I chose not to talk about during my sports career can still help and break taboos and normalize things.
Very nice price
Within skiing, Kalla’s book has received a warm reception and she herself is moved by all the reactions and nice words that have reached her.
– It’s great to hear from everyone. It is both former and current World Cup drivers who have contacted and thanked for an honest book. And thought it was very brave of me, Charlotte tells the evening newspaper.
– It really warms. And makes it feel worth it that I dared to show myself vulnerable. Because it really took a lot of courage.

“Got chocked”
Thanks to the book, Kalla has been invited to the Eldsjälsgala on April 11 to receive the “Special Award of the Year”.
“The book not only sheds new light on a well-known sports career – it also opens up a larger discussion about the price elite sportswomen can be forced to pay for their investment. With her honest and courageous story, she continues to be a role model for future generations of skiers – years after she ended her career,” reads the justification.

The 36-year-old from Tärendö is extremely proud and quite surprised that he will receive an award at the very important Fire Soul Gala.
– I was very shocked and surprised! And it feels very big to be able to go to the gala, she says in the interview.
– But this… It’s a big, big bonus for me.
