Both cross-country skiers have ended their careers.
And earlier this summer, Charlotte Kalla was at a messy surprise party dedicated to Therese Johaug.
– As fun as it gets, says Kalla.
The duo both announced towards the end of the season that they were putting down their elite venture after the competition year. They both leave cross-country skiing as two of the sport’s all-time greats with several Olympic and World Cup medals to their credit.
Was surprised
After the announcement, Charlotte Kalla jumped on a number of other assignments. Among other things, she will work as an ambassador for the ski company Skistar, as well as coach the national youth team in cross-country skiing.
Therese Johaug has followed the same path and will have a similar role firmly in the Norwegian cross-country team. But during the summer, they both got a well-deserved vacation and, among other things, Therese Johaug turned 34.
Then Charlotte Kalla was invited to a surprise party for the Norwegian former superstar.
“Partied until half past five”
– I was invited to a surprise party and it was as nice as it gets. Many friends had gathered and Therese, who is otherwise a control freak, was really deceived, she tells the site Wellness and continues:
– I, who am usually careful about my sleep, partied until half past five in the morning.
And the evening became a lavish story for Charlotte Kalla.
– Then I also got a sinus infection, but it was worth it, haha. Now I can live a little more when there is no training that will suffer the next day.
