Charlotte Kalla has got a new job at Skistar.
But at the same time, she reveals new details about her assignment within the national team.
– It felt completely obvious to want to have Charlotte, says length manager Lars Öberg.
Charlotte Kalla is the greatest Swedish cross-country skier on the women’s side of all time, so when she ended her career earlier in the spring, it was not particularly surprising that the offers around her hailed. Kalla was on almost every single TV couch – and was always asked the same question: “Do you want to become an expert for us?”
Reveals the new mission
Kalla has, however, meant that she intends to consider everyone alternatively carefully, and not jump on the first thing that comes up. On Wednesday, however, the news came that Kalla – just like the former skating star Nils van der Poel – will be a product developer for Skistar.
But that’s not the only thing Kalla is doing in the future. Kalla tells Expressen that she secretly started a new project within the national team.
– It is to investigate what the regrowth looks like. Because even though we have a high peak among the ladies, it is still a bit rough with the regrowth. There, we need to identify what kind of needs are needed for more people to continue even further into old age, she says.
“Felt completely obvious”
For the national team, there was no hesitation in throwing Kalla into the project, which is led by, among others, Ida Ingemarsdotter.
– It felt completely obvious to want to have Charlotte. She has fifteen years in the world elite. Because she felt tagged, we wanted to have her in the group, says length manager Lars Öberg.
Öberg believes that Kalla can contribute a lot, given her incomparable career.
– She herself has gone from being a good junior to becoming a world skier. Her experiences and reflections from her own career are extremely valuable. Charlotte has an incredible rearview mirror that is very important for us to weigh into our work to continue to be a world nation.
