She is truly one of the great prides of Swedish skiing over the years. So much success and joy that Charlotte Kalla has given us Swedes during the 2000s.

The successful career ended in the spring of 2022 and since then names like Ebba Andersson, Frida Karlsson and Jonna Sundling filled the void left by Kalla in Swedish cross-country skiing on the women’s side. For the 35-year-old, it has instead become dancing shoes instead of boots as she is now very current as one of the dancers in the TV4 program “Let’s Dance”.

Choose the best

Charlotte Kalla is now the latest in the line of Swedish sports heroes in the popular dance program and she has received some tips from old contestants such as the biathlon Magdalena Forsberg and the downhill skier Anja Pärson.
– “Magda” got in touch, as she also made the trip relatively recently, in 2019. She lives in Sundsvall and asked if I need any advice, so just get in touch. The strongest thing I take with me from that conversation was just: “Have fun! Enjoy the journey!”, says Kalla in an interview with Sportbibeln.
– Before I was asked, I talked a little with Anja Pärson. She also seems to have thoroughly enjoyed the journey she took in Let’s Dance.

But also riders who Maja Dahlqvist, Emma Ribom and Lynn Svahn has impressed during the season on the women’s side. But if only Kalla gets to choose a name, there is a given choice.
– Ebba (Andersson). That’s how impressive what she did during the WC. Then we also have Jonna (Sundling), I think that Jonna… No, but it’s difficult, says the 35-year-old to Sportbibeln and sticks mostly to Ebba Andersson as Sweden’s best skier at the moment.
