Twelve years after one of the sitcom industry’s fiercest feuds, Two and a Half Men creator Chuck Lorre and star Charlie Sheen team up for a new comedy series. The message is one of the most surprising reunions of the recent past and it is a small miracle that this cooperation is now really taking place. But you shouldn’t expect a new TAAHM.

Upcoming comedy series by Chuck Lorre and Charlie Sheen has nothing to do with TAAHM

Lorre’s new comedy series is being developed for Warner’s streaming service Max and is titled How to Be a Bookie. In the story, Sebastian Maniscalco will star as a long-time Los Angeles booker struggling to survive his business. According to previous information, Sheen takes one recurring role in the series.

The Two and a Half Men star will therefore not be the focus of the new production, which is supposed to prevent too much potential for conflict. With Sheen not taking on a lead role, no one should expect another TAAHM. His part may even be rather small. The reunion of the showrunner and the former scandal actor is still amazing.

Charlie Sheen and Chuck Lorre had a year-long feud over TAAHM

In 2011, Sheen was fired as a Two and a Half Men star after publicly telling showrunner Chuck Lorre offended with an anti-Semitic touch and only attracted attention through private alcohol and drug escapades. Therefore, in Season 8, Charlie Harper’s death was built in to write Sheen off the show. From seasons 9 through 12, Ashton Kutcher starred in TAAHM alongside Jon Cryer as Alan Harper.

While Sheen continued to occasionally disparage the sitcom and Lorre as its creator after his sacking, a final cameo in the series finale of Two and a Half Men was staged with a double’s rear view. (Read more: The real reason Charlie Sheen didn’t appear in the Two and a Half Men finale)

In recent years, Sheen has become quieter and more remorseful. The actor has publicly apologized several times for his insulting remarks towards Lorre. However, a renewed cooperation was not really to be expected.

It seemed more like the two people would go their separate ways from now on. That’s why the reunion between Lorre and Sheen for the new comedy series is now a small miracle.
