Charles is now formally Canada’s monarch as well, after Governor General Mary Simon met with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his government and signed a proclamation.
The declaration was followed by 21 salutes.
– We have every confidence that His Majesty will be very present and involved in the life of our country, as his mother was, says Dominic LeBlanc, Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, according to the CBC.
