Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc clocked the fastest lap time in the second free practice of the Formula 1 Azerbaijan GP in Baku.

In an extremely tight race, Leclerc defeated Red Bull, which gasped for second place by Sergio Perez in six thousandths of a second.

Mercedes finished third in the second period Lewis Hamilton. Sauber fighting for its place in the team Valtteri Bottas finished 15th, 1.3 seconds off the lead.

Previously, Red Bull’s was the fastest in the first practices Max Verstappen. The three-time world champion Verstappen, who leads the World Series, clocked a time of 1:45.456 and beat second-placed Hamilton by just over 0.3 seconds.

Bottas was barely 2.1 seconds behind the leader in the opening practice and was 14th.

The first practice session was interrupted several times due to the red flag that warned of a dangerous situation. Among the famous drivers, Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc made a gross misjudgment at turn 15 and crashed into the wall.

Also a fresh Williams driver Franco Colapinto drove out violently.

Oliver Bearman took the 11th and 10th places in the day’s practice. Bearman drives for the Haas team because Kevin Magnussen is suspended due to his crashes. Bearman drove a Ferrari to seventh in Saudi Arabia earlier this season when Carlos Sainz was sick.

The 19-year-old British driver can become the creator of a special F1 record: points in the first two races of his career, but with different cars.
