Charles and Camilla guest star in Eastenders

The prince and princess will join a street party in Albert Square in the fictional city of Walford, which will be held in the Queen’s honor. The scene was filmed in March and will be broadcast on BBC One on 2 June.

In the anniversary episode of “Eastenders”, the party participants are shocked when the royals appear. Actress Kellie Bright, who plays Linda Carter, was the one who introduced the prince and princess to the ensemble.

– I just felt, wow … it must have been completely out of the norm for them. I just hope they had as much fun as the rest of us, she tells the BBC.

Producer Chris Clenshaw feels honored by the appearance of royalty in the TV soap.

– For all of us in “Eastenders”, it was an extremely special day that will go down in the history of the TV series, he says.

This is not the first time as British royalty make guest appearances in the world of television and entertainment. In 2000, Prince Charles played a guest role in “Coronation Street” in connection with the TV series’ 40th anniversary, and in 2001, Queen Elizabeth visited soap queen Dame Barbara Windsor in a set of “Eastenders”.

In a short film for the inauguration of the London 2012 Summer Olympics, Queen Elizabeth was escorted by James Bond (played by Daniel Craig) to the stadium, with a helicopter and parachute.
