Chaotic scenes in the flooded city in Spain

Heavy rain and hail in Zaragoza in northeastern Spain have led to heavy flooding. Footage on social media shows people clinging to their cars and climbing trees to avoid being swept away.

Videos on social media show the chaos unfolding in the city after extensive flooding, including how cars are seen being swept away in the strong currents.

During Thursday, several of the city’s streets were flooded, people got stuck in their cars when the roads were no longer passable, and the rescue service had to be called out in several directions, reports Spanish La Vanguardia.

A woman had to be rescued urgently after her car got stuck in strong currents of water on the motorway, and she was forced to climb onto the roof of the car.

Six people have been taken to hospital in connection with the storm, but no one is said to have been seriously injured, reports El Confidencial.

The material damage, on the other hand, amounts to several million euros, according to the newspaper.
