Hackers (Hackers) angered hundreds of motorists in Moscow, the capital of Russia. Dozens of drivers working on a Russian taxi app had a frustrating day. All of this was because hackers hacked the Russian taxi app in question.
HACKERS MIXED MOSCOW!
According to the news of the British Daily Mail newspaper, hackers targeted a Russia-based taxi-hailing application that allows its users to call a taxi to their location.
As a result of the attack, taxis rained down on Kutuzovsky Prospekt in Moscow, the main road to the center of the Russian capital. This resulted in congestion on the eight to ten lane Kutuzovsky Prospekt. However, drivers were stuck in traffic for minutes due to fake calls.
It was claimed that the images shared on social media showed the congestion experienced. A video allegedly shot from inside one of the taxis showed dozens of vehicles barely moving, all in the same direction. The person recording the video then shot the phone screen showing an address on Kutuzovsky Prospekt.
VERIFICATION ARRIVED FROM THE COMPANY
The company later confirmed the incident by making a statement. “On the morning of September 1, we encountered an attempt by the attackers to disrupt the service. Several dozen drivers received a mass call to the area,” he told Forbes.ru. The company said its security department immediately stopped attempts to call a fake taxi. But that wasn’t enough to stop the deadlock. It was also noted that the vulnerability that led to the hacking was addressed.
No one has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
