The luxury house Chanel unveils its makeup application to find the perfect shade of lipstick.
Finding the right shade of lipstick can be a real challenge. To make it easier for consumers to choose during this pandemic, cosmetics brands are developing their digital strategies. While some brands already offer the possibility of finding shades online, the great luxury house Chanel is innovating by offering Lipscanner. The principle ? Find the perfect shade of lipstick using a scanner. To do this, scan the color that interests you (photos of celebrities, bags, varnish, sweaters…) and try it on a photo with your lips using Virtual Try On. To best meet demand, the application finds the shade that most closely matches the color requested among the 400 shades of Chanel lipsticks.
A world first
Chanel is positioned as a pioneer in this type of application. This system, developed by CX Lab (Chanel’s Connected Experience Lab) and the Chanel Makeup Creation Studio, promises to bring a new approach to the world of beauty. Thanks to a very precise algorithm and an ingenious system, beyond the shade, the scanner also makes it possible to find the texture, whether it is matte or shiny.
