CAF, through its President Patrice Motsepe, has officially announced the date of the next African Nations Championship (CHAN) which will be jointly hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. The tournament will take place from 1 to 25 February 2025.

Two years before the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) that they are co-organizing in 2027, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda will have the opportunity to treat themselves to a good rehearsal. President Ruto’s commitment
” The qualifiers will take place between October and December. ” announced Cameroonian Seidou Mbombo Njoya, fourth vice-president of CAF. The first qualifications will start between October 21 and 27.
The new feature at CHAN: the selections will be able to call upon any player playing on the African continent whereas before, only players from local championships were eligible.
On the sidelines of the executive committee meeting, the CAF president took the opportunity to visit the three stadiums (Kasarani, Nyayo and Talanta) which will host the 2027 CAN in Kenya.
” We are committed to having Kasarani and Nyayo ready by the end of this year for the African Nations Championship (CHAN) in 2025, while the Talanta Sports City stadium will be completed by December 2025 for the 2027 AFCON. ” promised Kenyan President William Ruto who granted an audience to Patrice Motsepe.
