The first draw of the year concerns Olympique de Marseille who will know their opponent for the preliminary round.
In 2024, the Champions League will once again be eagerly awaited by all the European clubs who all hope to lift the trophy. As a reminder, the competition will welcome 4 additional teams, and will take place in the form of a championship (final ranking from 1 to 36, therefore), but each team will meet “only” 8 opponents, with 4 games played at home and 4 away. In detail, at the end of the first phase, a ranking from 1 to 36 will be made. The teams classified from 1 to 8 are directly qualified for the round of 16 while the teams classified from 9 to 24 compete in a round of 16 (play-off) to arrive at 16 teams in total.
For the first draw of the year, theOM will meet on July 24. During this confrontation, OM could meet Sturm Graz (Austria), TSC Bačka Topola (Serbia), or two of its clubs among the following four (which will face each other before the second preliminary round): Genk (Belgium), Dnipro (Ukraine), Servette (Switzerland) or Panathinaikos (Greece). Galatasaray, Sheriff Tiraspol, FC Copenhagen and Maccaibi Haifa… And more. The first leg of the third preliminary round will be held on August 8 or 9 with the return on August 15.
