A few hundred meters away, within the walls of Soestdijk Palace, owner Maya Meijer-Bergmans has to recover from the blow. “The team we have been working with for six years was watching the verdict with apple pie,” she says. “We expected that some adjustments would be needed, but none of us imagined that it would be destroyed in one go.”
