Challe Berglund’s giant rage – raging against the rival after the pictures in the SHL: “Damn disrespectful”

Luleå showed replays of a tackle.
Then Challe Berglund saw red.
– So fucking disrespectful, says the Leksands coach.

Luleå turned around and won against Leksand in the SHL on Thursday evening, but the postgame was about everything but the goals in the match. After the match, Linus Omark chose to call Marcus Karlberg a videographer after an incident, but Lekands coach Challe Berglund was also furious – for a completely different reason.

“So fucking disrespectful”

Juhani Tyrväinen, who is so often involved in controversial incidents in the SHL, lost his temper and brought down Matt Caito with a tackle towards the rim. Omark believed, also that time, that it was the Leksands player’s responsibility when he is tackled. However, Tyrväinen was sent off for five minutes for the tackle, but it wasn’t the one that caused Berglund to go to the ceiling.

It was the fact that Luleå chose to show the replay of the tackle on the big screen in the arena.

– I think it is deplorable how people behave from Luleå’s video room. When you play an injured player again and again and again and again. I don’t understand that in such a professional organization as Luleå Hockey you can behave like that. It’s actually embarrassing. It’s so fucking disrespectful to an injured player. Then you can think that it is a nice tackle. You can do that. But you don’t do that, says Berglund according to Norrbottens-Kuriren.

Won despite the expulsion

Challe Berglund said at the same time that the expulsion was harshly condemned, but that Luleå’s actions were “embarrassing”.

– I think it’s embarrassing. They don’t know what kind of damage it is. Now it wasn’t such a serious injury. But imagine if he had had a vertebral dislocation or something, says Berglund.

Despite Tyrväinen being sent to the penalty box for a full five minutes, with just over five minutes left in the game, it was Luleå who scored the next goal in the game, and it was an important one. It meant 3-3, and the match therefore went to extra time and penalties, where Luleå was able to secure the win.
