De Boer is not entirely new in the Provincial Council. Before she joined the Eemnes college two years ago, she had been part of the Utrecht States faction for over a year. She managed the Nature and Agriculture portfolio there. She was also party leader of the PvdA in the city council of Eemnes for nine years.
