At least eleven people have died in a mine explosion on Tuesday evening in Colombia, the authorities say. Ten people are missing, while nine are said to have been able to get out.
According to the emergency services, five coal mines, connected via tunnels and ventilation systems, were affected in what is described as a chain explosion which is said to have been caused by methane gas.
President Gustavo Petro writes on Twitter that rescue workers are doing everything they can to reach the missing.
