Six months after the violent repression of the October 20 demonstrations, the Chadian League for Human Rights and the World Organization Against Torture published their report on the events on Wednesday. Several opposition parties then called for demonstrations, despite the ban on the authorities, against the extension of the transition and the maintenance of Mahamat Idriss Deby at its head. NGOs draw up a death toll of 218, higher than that of the National Commission for Human Rights, which already counted 128 victims and that of the government, which counted only 73.
