They had been detained for 11 months in Ndjamena by Chadian intelligence services: the Central African rebel leaders Abakar Sabone and Mahamat al-Khatim were released that night (night of Monday and Tuesday) and brought back to their home. They had been arrested in April 2024 after having denounced the diversion by Chadian security chiefs of sums which were due to them within the framework of the mediation of Angola in the crisis in the Central African Republic.
