The César 2023 nominations were announced this Wednesday, January 25, 2023. Which films are already favourites? Which actors and actresses in competition?
The César competition has officially started. The 2023 nominations were announced on Wednesday January 25, 2023 by the Academy of Cinema Arts and Techniques. As such, the films that marked the seventh French art last year are honored. Among the favorites are the innocent (11 nominations), The night of 12 (10 nominations), In body and Pacifiction – Torment on the Islands (9 nominations) or even The Almond Trees and November (7 nominations).
On social networks, the announcement of the César 2023 nominations is far from making people happy. Many observers protest that no woman is named in the directing category, citing the noticeable absences of Alice Diop for Holy Omerby Rebecca Zlotowski for Other people’s children or Alice Winocour for See Paris again.
As a reminder, the 48th Cesar ceremony takes place on Friday February 24, 2023, in less than a month, at the Olympia. Tahar Rahim was chosen as president, while the presentation will be provided by several collegiate masters of ceremonies, including Leïla Bekhti, Jérôme Commandeur, Jamel Debbouze, Emmanuelle Devos, Léa Drucker, Eye Haïdara, Alex Lutz, Raphaël Personnaz or Ahmed Sylla. American director David Fincher will also receive an honorary Cesar for his entire career. Find the full list of César nominations below.
