CES, the major high-tech show in Las Vegas, is traditionally an opportunity to discover the latest technological innovations. Some are truly astonishing, unusual, and sometimes bordering on the ridiculous…

Like every year, at the beginning of January, new technology enthusiasts can take advantage of CES, the famous high-tech show held in Las Vegas. Indeed, the Consumer Electronics Show is an unmissable event for all players in the sector. QWhether manufacturers, publishers or start-ups, they all take advantage of the enormous media coverage of the show to unveil an avalanche of technological innovations. And the 2025 edition, which takes place from January 7 to 11, was no exception to the rule.

For example, we had the right to add AI to Samsung televisions with Vision AI, to a connected mirror which analyzes all our health data with the Withings of Omnia, to a robot vacuum cleaner equipped with an arm with the Roborock Saros Z70 or even to Jennie, the robot dog to help and comfort sick people. But in In addition to the traditional new products presented by television or computer manufacturers, visitors can discover a whole bunch of surprising, unusual, amusing and, sometimes, frankly useless innovations. Here is a little anthology.

Switchbot K20+ Pro: the robot vacuum cleaner equipped with a tray

Switchbot reinvents the concept of the connected vacuum cleaner with the multitasking domestic robot K20+ Pro, which has the particularity of being equipped with a very strange accessory: a tray on wheels. Called Dusion Platfom, it is attached to the vacuum cleaner so that, when it moves around the house, it is possible to place objects on it. It can thus be used to deliver a coffee or any other object to another room without having to move. Additional devices, such as a surveillance camera, a smartphone mounting bracket or an air purifier, can be combined for more services. Enough to transform the vacuum cleaner into a domestic assistant, to the point that we forget its primary function…

Kirin connected spoon: to add “fake salt” to your dishes

The Kirin company took advantage of CES to present its “electric salt spoon”, which allows you to experience a salty taste without adding salt to food. To achieve this feat, it sends a slight electric shock to our tongue in order to stimulate the taste buds by bringing together the sodium ions naturally present in food, multiplying the sensation of salt up to 2.3 times. A button allows you to select the intensity level. The aim is to help consumers reduce the amount of salt in their meals, as this can have a negative impact on their health. The device is already on sale in Japan for a price equivalent to 120 euros.
