CES 2025: why NVIDIA is causing a sensation at the show

CES 2025 why NVIDIA is causing a sensation at the

It was a real earthquake that shook CES 2025 in Las Vegas. NVIDIA left its mark on the world’s largest new technology show, with announcements as numerous as they were unexpected.

It is undoubtedly the largest high-tech event in the world. The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) has just started its brand new edition this Tuesday, January 7, which will conclude in three days. The show, born in 1967, is an opportunity for many manufacturers to reveal their latest advances in the world of technology. NVIDIA, for its part, has accumulated announcements, until it has established itself as the king of the event.

An American technology company, NVIDIA is recognized in several key areas, particularly for its cutting-edge graphics cards that are popular in the video game sector. NVIDIA is also interested in artificial intelligence, high-performance computing for supercomputers and autonomous vehicles. CES 2025 marks a completely new turning point for the firm.

A new generation of graphics card

NVIDIA, which had the privilege of inaugurating CES 2025, left no one indifferent. It was during his two-hour conference that Jensen Huang, its CEO, revealed to the world the latest technological advances and the company’s future products. Among the announcements that swarmed in Las Vegas, that of the new generation of RTX graphics cards was undoubtedly the most resounding.

This new generation consists of four models:

  • RTX 5090: available January 30 for $1999
  • RTX 5080: available January 30 for $999
  • RTX 5070 Ti: available in February for $749
  • RTX 5070: available in February for $549

The RTX 5090, the most expensive of all these cards, is a real powerhouse. Incorporating nearly 92 billion transistors and 32 GB of GDDR7 memory, this new high-tech gadget would be twice as efficient as its big sister, the RTX 4090, released in 2022.

Ray-tracing is also significantly improved and heavy video games, like Cyberpunk 2077will be optimized in depth. A real graphic leap which culminates in this comparison video:

The strength of the RTX 50 also lies in artificial intelligence, which will significantly improve image quality. The new generation of graphics cards, which operate under the Blackwell architecture, finally integrates “RTX Neural Shaders”, which achieve the feat of compressing textures up to 7 times while preserving their quality.

AI-driven robots

In addition to reaffirming its superiority in the graphics card market, NVIDIA shone for its futuristic and revolutionary vision of artificial intelligence. Jensen Huang has shown his unconditional support for AI, which he hopes to develop in depth through the creation of so-called “physical” artificial intelligence. These would take the form of humanoid robots capable not of answering a question, like today’s AI, but of carrying out concrete actions according to the user’s request.

Jensen Huang just appeared on stage surrounded by around ten robots with different silhouettes and various names: Boston Dynamics, Sanctuary AI, Atlas… The robotics revolution is approaching and NVIDIA intends to play a decisive role in it.

NVIDIA therefore inaugurated CES 2025 with announcements, each more revolutionary than the last. Jensen Huang’s projects sell dreams and carry the promise of a new, ever more modern world.
