Japan froze this Friday at 11:58 a.m. local time at the precise moment when, 100 years ago, on September 1, 1923, it suffered the most serious natural disaster in its history: a magnitude 7.9 earthquake followed by a Tsunami 12 meters high, which devastated Tokyo and its immense suburbs, causing 105,000 deaths.
