“I am: Celine Dion” is the name of a new documentary that will be released soon. It is not about the singer’s life and career, but about her struggle with health.
“The last few years have been a big challenge for me, from understanding my health condition to learning to live with and manage it, without letting it define me,” she says in a statement according to Variety.
Last year, Celine Dion was forced to cancel her world tour because she suffered from the rare neurological disease stiff person syndrome, which causes involuntary muscle contractions.
Want to help others with the same diagnosis
While waiting to be able to return to the stage, Dion chose to make a documentary about his health struggle. The aim is for the documentary to help others who suffer from the same diagnosis, as well as create greater awareness of the disease.
In the documentary, which spans a year, Dion reveals her personal life and how she deals with her illness, which she was diagnosed with in 2022.
No release date has been set yet, but it will be shown on Prime Video.
