With 95,600 followers on Instagram, the cat Kerstin was known to a larger public. Artist Niklas Strömstedt and presenter Jenny Strömstedt write that Kerstin fell ill with a fever over the weekend and was euthanized by a veterinarian on Sunday.
“I wasn’t prepared for you to leave us already and the emptiness echoes. It hurts. No, you weren’t just a cat and everyone who has lost a beloved pet knows that,” writes Jenny Strömstedt in a post on Instagram.
On the cat Kerstin’s own account, the couple has published an emotional “comfort song”. In the past, Niklas Strömstedt has published songs, so-called Friday songs, which have also been released in collaboration with Universal Music, on the same account.
“At the end of the rainbow there is a cat” is a memoir written from the perspective of the cat Kerstin. It was released a little over a month ago by Mondial publishing house, with text by Niklas Strömstedt and illustrations by Lars Lerin.
