(Finance) – The cabinet unanimously approved the bill decree and the decree on the rules for the superbonus. “The approved measures are very rich in complex content. I express my thanks and the Government’s thanks to the Ministers who are here tonight” said the Prime Minister Mario Draghi at the press conference.
The two decrees aimed, the first, at curbing the rise in bills, for the development of renewable energy and to increase the gas produced at national level and, the other, at combating construction fraud and regulating the electricity produced by plants from alternative sources, provide in total the allocation of € 8 billion, without budgetary variances, to support the economy in a difficult phase. In the measures approved by the CDM unanimously, important measures for the automotive sector, as part of the relaunch of industrial policies, and for the public administration also found space.
“This afternoon – explained Draghi – we approved measures to contain the increase in the cost of energy and support the automotive sector. almost 8 billion euros of which 6 for energy measures. We do this without resorting to new budget variances. In fact, we use the margins deriving from the excellent results in terms of public finance growth achieved last year and also described by the Governor of the Bank of Italy in his most recent speech. With today’s measures, we extend the measures to the second quarter and expand the bill reduction measures in favor of businesses and households that we have deployed in recent months for the first quarter. We intervene in a structural way for increase the production of Italian gas which can be sold at lower prices and to simplify and speed up theinstallation of renewable energy systems. We also create a a billion-a-year fund to support the automobile industry and its supply chain which are at the center of the energy transition underway. “Commenting on the improvement in the health situation in the country, Draghi announced, among the measures approved today, also a fund of 15 million euros for healthcare workers who died from Covid-19.
“As for the economy, as I said last week, – highlighted the premier – we are still in a phase of slowing growth in Europe which, according to forecasts to date, should resume quickly starting from the second quarter. This year. The government’s goal is to relaunch growth. Sustained, equitable and sustainable growth. But we also need to tackle the problem of the labor market, especially for young people, and the problem of precariousness. The government wants helping citizens in this moment of difficulty, wants to intervene right now to prevent the rise in electricity prices from steadily translating into lower purchasing power as regards families and less competitiveness as regards businesses ” .
