(Finance) – The cabinet met at Palazzo Chigi, under the chairmanship of the Vice-President Antonio Tajani and on the proposal of the Minister of Economy and Finance Giancarlo Giorgetti, approved a new Report to Parliament pursuant to art. 6 of the law of 24 December 2012, n. 243. “They stay confirmed the public finance balances already reported by the 2023 Economic and Financial Document, while the new Report underlines the aims of supporting work and families object of the interventions scheduled for the Council of Ministers already set for 1 May “, reads a note.
The provision became necessary after the House rejected the majority resolution relating to the budget variancewho only got 195 yeses, compared to the 201 needed to pass resolution, 19 no and 105 abstentions. A flop for the government, which needed an absolute majority (201 votes in favour) for this resolution and instead missed 6 useful votes.
No problem instead at Senate where the plenary approved the resolution on the DEF extension proposed by the majority and with 115 votes in favour, 29 against and 29 abstentions the resolution on the budget variance.
