Now a major effort is underway to bring Dickey up, who says in a video that he is “up and walking and alive” but that he is not “restored on the inside”.
The rescue is estimated to take several days, perhaps weeks. One difficulty is that there are narrow passages along the way up that can be difficult to get through with a stretcher.
