Nelson said she is excited to bring her experience, “which has contributed to the successful completion of major projects for the Toronto school board,” to the Brant Haldimand Norfolk board.
“My focus will be on repurposing funds, addressing resources for staffing needs, supporting diversity and creating inclusive and equitable outcomes for all, while maintaining a balanced budget.”
Director of Education Mike McDonald said they were “thrilled” to have Nelson as part of the senior administration team. “She is an exemplary Catholic leader who brings extensive experience in the areas of finance and budgeting that will help the BHNCDSB realize the goals of our strategic plan. With increasing enrollment and growing demands on resources in the coming years, her focused financial acumen and problem-solving skills will greatly benefit the students, staff, and parents in our community.”
Nelson will replace Cheryl Dalrymple who joined the board as treasurer in June but left the position at the end of September.
