Last year, the owners sounded the alarm with the municipality. The enormous glass greenhouse that was built in 1914 could hardly be exploited commercially. “Our catering business is doing well, the location is beautiful and it is very busy,” says Sikkema. “But the costs are just too high.” Sikkema refers to the problems of making the antique building wind, water and soundproof. The corona period and the sharp rise in energy prices last year were the final blow.
