A 13-meter-deep sinkhole opened in a swimming pool in Israel, leading to a man being swept underground.

Now the pool owners are accused of having built the pool without permission.

A private party in Karmei Yosef in Israel had a fatal outcome when a sinkhole suddenly opened in a pool.

A man in his 30s was pulled down the sinkhole and later found dead after a search operation involving Israeli police, emergency services and the military. According to Israeli media, the sinkhole was 13 meters deep.

About 50 people attended the party, of which six people were in the pool when the sinkhole appeared. Video footage shows another man narrowly escaping the hole.

The accident happened last Thursday. The host couple and the pool owners, a man and a woman in their 60s, are now suspected of causing the death of another. In addition, they are accused of building the pool without a permit in an area with known infrastructure problems.
