Cat Larry talks about his future on Downing Street

The cat Larry is a beloved political player in Britain.

Now that Boris Johnson is leaving 10 Downing Street, many Britons fear that the cat will do the same.

Now Larry has given a clear message about his future at the center of power.

During the time of chaos that marked English politics, many voters have turned their eyes to one of the nation’s foremost symbols of institutional stability and democratic order.

That is, the cat Larry.

For eleven years, Larry has resided at 10 Downing Street – which is longer than any British Prime Minister has stayed in the House in Westminster – and serves there as Chief Mouser in the Government Cabinet Office.

Examines antique furniture

To the cat Larry’s official obligations, writes The Mirrorincluding welcoming guests to 10 Downing Street, inspecting the house’s security system and reviewing the napkin qualities of antique furniture.

One question that many Britons are now asking themselves is what will happen to Larry when his boss Boris Johnson is forced to move out of the house. Will the disgraced Prime Minister take the beloved 15-year-old cat with him? Or will Larry, like a significant portion of the Prime Minister’s closest supporters, simply resign?

Demanded his resignation

In fact, Larry recently issued an ultimatum to Boris Johnson via his twitter account.

– Either he leaves or I do, Larry writes, referring to the fact that his conscience does not allow him to continue to live under the same roof as the Prime Minister.

Two days after the cat Larry’s call to Boris Johnson to leave the post of Prime Minister, he very much did.

To avoid further misunderstandings, Larry emphasized on Twitter the same day that he is not “Boris Johnson’s cat”.

– As all prime ministers are [Boris Johnson] just a temporary guest on 10 Downing Street. I live here permanently. When he finally leaves, I stay, states the cat and continues:

– Yes, all this is very embarrassing, but now it’s soon over.

Belongs to the permanent staff

The fact that the cat Larry does not belong to an individual has previously been confirmed by the former Prime Minister David Cameron, who in 2016 once and for all stated that Larry is an official and belongs to 10 Downing Street’s permanent staff.

Larry has previously attracted international attention by taking a post under former US President Donald Trump’s limousine “The Beast”.

The increase slowed down the president’s schedule because Larry refused to leave his seat under the car. As he resolutely refuses to leave his post in the epicenter of British political power.
