Cat disappeared five years ago found in North Sea

It turns out that before the cat was found, he often went to HMP Grampian Prison in Scotland, where he was known as “One-eyed Joe” and was fed by the staff.

Animal rescue worker Aimee Findlay, who received the cat, said, “We have no idea how the cat got there. When we looked to see if he had a microchip, we found out that his real name was Dexter and he has been missing for five years.”

Adding the words “We are very glad that he was taken care of so well after his disappearance,” Findlay stated that they were most happy to be able to deliver him to his original owner, thanks to his up-to-date microchip.

Dexter’s owner, Bridie Dorta, told the BBC she was very surprised at her cat’s return: “She was always a wanderer. She was gone a few years ago and we haven’t heard from it since. We never expected her to come back here.”

He stated that they wanted to continue the relationship of the cat with its fans in prison.
