Since July 1st, Chad has had a world number one athlete in his discipline! Casimir Betel, 26, currently sits at the top of the 58 kg hierarchy in taekwondo. Even if it is only provisional, he hopes that his status, and the sudden notoriety it brings him in the country, will allow him to obtain the necessary means to progress further, with a view to participating in the Los Angeles Olympic Games in 2028.
